Receipt and Warranty Management

Never lose another receipt or warranty document. Well Kept keeps everything organized and accessible.


Uploading Receipts

When Adding an Item:

  1. While creating or editing an inventory item, initiate the upload.

  2. Click "Upload Receipt" or "Add Document".

  3. Choose the file from your device.

  4. Supported formats include PDF, JPG, PNG, and HEIC.

  5. Save the item to complete the process.


Uploading Additional Documents:

  • Each item can have multiple files attached to it.

  • You can store receipts, warranties, manuals, and photos.

  • Files are linked to specific items for easy access.


Mobile Receipt Capture

Using the iOS app:

  1. Open an item.

  2. Tap "Add Photo".

  3. Take a photo of your receipt.

  4. The photo is automatically uploaded and attached.


Storage Limits

  • Users on the Free Plan receive 500MB of total storage.

  • Users on Premium or Lifetime plans receive 10GB of total storage.


Viewing and Downloading Documents

  1. Open an inventory item.

  2. Scroll to the "Documents" section.

  3. Click on any file to view or download it.

  4. PDFs open in the browser viewer.

  5. Images display in full-screen mode.


OCR and Receipt Scanning (Coming Soon)

Future updates will include:

  • Automatic receipt data extraction capabilities.

  • Auto-fill functionality for purchase date and price.

  • Digital warranty tracking features.

  • Smart document organization tools.


Warranty Expiration Tracking

When adding warranty information:

  1. Enter the warranty expiration date.

  2. Enable "Warranty Reminder" notifications.

  3. You will receive email alerts 30 days before, 7 days before, and on the expiration date.


Organizing Documents

Best Practices:

  • Upload receipts immediately after purchase.

  • Include warranty cards and product manuals.

  • Add photos of serial numbers or model numbers.

  • Use clear, readable images or PDFs.

  • Name files descriptively for easier search.

Searching Documents

  • Use the inventory search to find items.

  • View all documents attached to a specific item.
